As a single iron source with ferrous ions, oxygen in the air as an oxidant, and cysteine ​​as a protective agent, cysteine-functionalized ferric oxide magnetic nanoparticles with uniform particle size were prepared by ultrasonic-assisted oxidative precipitation(Fe3O4-Cys NPs). The magnetic properties of Fe3O4-Cys were investigated by infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and other techniques.The structure and properties of the nanoparticles were characterized. It was found that the synthesized Fe3O4-Cys NPs were composed of iron (Fe) atoms on the surface of Fe3O4 and sulfur (S) atoms of L-Cys.The content of the nanoparticle is about 23%; the particle size of the nanoparticle is small and uniform (about 15nm), with good magnetic response, superparamagnetic, and excellent thermal stability.The adsorption performance of Hg(II) ions. When the adsorption time was T=20 min, the adsorbent dosage was 15 μmol, and pH=5, the adsorption efficiency of Fe3O4-Cys NPs for heavy metal Hg(II) ions was as high as 95%. The adsorption rate was calculated based on the Lagergrent equation.The constant is 0.22min-1
