WSL2 The offline installation manual can be divided into several steps

Turn on Windows Subsystem for Linux Options

Open as super administrator PowerShell(“ Start ” menu >“PowerShell” > Right click >“ Run as administrator ”), Run the command ：

dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux /all /norestart

Check WSL2 Operational dependency

Use WSL2 The operating system must be win10, And the following conditions must be met ：

• about x64 System ： edition 1903  Or later , use Internal version 18362  Or later .
• about ARM64 System ： edition 2004  Or later , use Internal version 19041  Or later .
• lower than 18362 The version of does not support WSL 2. Use  Windows Update assistant to update Windows edition .(https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10) to update your version of Windows.

Enable virtual machine features

install WSL 2 Before , Must enable “ Virtual machine platform ” Optional features . Computers need Virtualization capabilities To use this function .

Open as administrator PowerShell And run ：

PowerShell Copy

dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:VirtualMachinePlatform /all /norestart

Restart Computer , To complete the WSL Install and update to WSL 2.

download Linux Kernel update package

1. Download the latest package ：

Apply to x64 The computer WSL2 Linux Kernel update package

remarks
If you are using ARM64 Computer , Please download  ARM64 package . If you're not sure about your computer type , Please open the command prompt or PowerShell, And enter the ：systeminfo | find "System Type". Caveat：   In the non English version Windows On , You may have to modify the search text , Yes “System Type” String translation . You may also need to escape quotation marks for find command . for example , In the German version  systeminfo | find '"Systemtyp"'.

2. Run the update package you downloaded in the previous step . （ Double click to run - You will be prompted to provide elevated permissions , choice “ yes ” To approve this installation .）

After installation , Please proceed to the next step - Installing a new Linux At the time of distribution , take WSL 2 Set to default version . （ If you want a new Linux The installation is set to WSL 1, Please skip this step .）

take WSL2 Set to default version

wsl --set-default-version 2
