After upgrading the node to support SRv6, this L3VPNThe steps for migrating services from the MPLS network to the SRv6 network are as follows.
  • Configure the interface IPv6 address and Locator network segment.
  • Configure IS-IS IPv6, enable SRv6, and advertise Locator routes.
  • The forwarder and the controller establish BGP IPv6 unicast address family neighbors, enable BGP-LS and BGP IPv6 SR-Policy, and the controllerThe SRv6 Policy path is issued, and the node installs the SRv6 TE path.
  • Configure BGP VPNv4 neighbors with IPv6 addresses on service nodes, advertise private network routes to each other, and the Color attribute of the route is the same as the Color attribute of the SRv6 PolicyCorrespondingly, ensure that routes can be iterated to SRv6 Policy.
  • There are two routes on the service node at this time, one is the route carrying the private network MPLS label received from the BGP neighbor of the IPv4 address, and the other isReceive routes carrying VPN SIDs from BGP neighbors with IPv6 addresses.When the attributes of the two routes are exactly the same, the device prefers the route received from the BGP neighbor of the IPv4 address by default, and the service is still carried through the MPLS tunnel.
  • Configure the routing policy so that the device prefers the route received from the BGP neighbor of the IPv6 address, then the traffic will be automatically switched to SRv6 to carry the L3VPN service.Migrate to SRv6 tunnels.
  • Delete MPLS tunnel, delete BGP IPv4 unicast address family neighbor, and delete MPLS protocol.

It can be seen from the above process that after the SRv6 tunnel is established, services can be smoothly migrated from the MPLS network to the SRv6 network.The migrated network architecture is shown in the figure:

Compared with MPLS network, SRv6 network can complete data forwarding based on the reachability of IPv6, and the control plane only needs basic protocols such as IGP/BGP, no need to maintain MPLS network, and no need to maintain control such as LDP/RSVP-TEFlat signaling protocol, service deployment is simpler.
